The polar bear has two layers of fur, a soft under coat and an outer coat of guard hair.the guard hairs are hollow and help the polar bear float!

Oh my! What an excellent hyperlink you included in your blog. It took me to a very interesting webpage. I am fast becoming obsessed with polar bear fur because there are just so many things to learn about it!

What a great blog lots of bear facts.
Did you know that Polar Bears kept in zoos are sometime green!
Algae from the water grows inside the hollow hairs, making the bear look green.
